JAKARTA - Tens of thousands of online motorcycle taxis (ojol) attended the people's party to enliven the inauguration of the President and Vice President, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka which were held at a number of points from the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout to the Horse Statue, Jakarta, Sunday, October 20, 2024.

"The movement of the mass of ojol drivers is estimated to reach more than 50,000 ojol arriving from all over Jabodetabek, West Java, Banten and Lampung," said Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Guard Online Transportation Drivers, Igun Wicaksono, ANTARA.

Igun explained that ojol drivers were very enthusiastic about welcoming the new President Prabowo Subianto.

According to him, the presence of ojol drivers at the inauguration ceremony is proof that ojol wants better changes in terms of welfare and legal protection during the Prabowo administration.

The Indonesian Guard, he said, had high hopes for President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran to be able to protect the rights of ojol drivers in the future through ministries/agencies and legislatures.

"We firmly believe that there will be more pro regulatory changes to ojol drivers, which are currently estimated at four million ojol drivers throughout Indonesia or around 1.25 million ojol drivers in Jabodetabek," said Igun.

He added that ojol drivers also act as the strength of the Indonesian economic mass and also a symbol of national solidarity with the strong unity among today's ojol drivers, so that this can be the attention of the Prabowo government in the future.

Previously, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka took the oath of office as President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term of service at the MPR RI Plenary Session at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta.

Wrapped in Betawi traditional suits and fabrics, Prabowo and Gibran took the oath of office smoothly under the holy Koran.

"By Allah, I swear that I will fulfill the obligations of the President of the Republic of Indonesia as well as possible and fairly as possible, uphold the Basic Law and carry out all laws and regulations as straight as possible and serve the homeland and nation," Prabowo said reading his oath.

Gibran also took his oath as Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
