Evaluation Of 10 Years Of Leadership, Jokowi Called: President Of Opposite Speech

JAKARTA - A constitutional law expert from Andalas University, Feri Amsari, assesses President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) as a figure who is 'PKB' or President of Opposite Speech.

He made this statement when he was asked to evaluate the 10 years of President Jokowi's leadership at the Talks of PKB Insight Hub, Indonesia's 2024 Government Transition in Kemang, South Jakarta.

"Jokowi is a PKB. That means the President has the opposite of his speech," said Feri, Saturday, October 19.

Feri said that Jokowi often showed the opposite of his initial words. For example, weakening the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to making his children politicians.

"What is the opposite, want to eradicate corruption, but what was damaged by the KPK first. Want to say that his son is not a politician, the fact is more politicians than politicians," he said.

At the beginning of his administration, Jokowi was known to be reluctant to show his children to enter the government. The reason is because he prefers to do business.

However, over time, the statement was refuted. Gibran Rakabuming Raka, who is his eldest son, is now the elected vice president.

Then, his son-in-law Bobby Nasution became mayor and his youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep also entered politics.

"In the past, we were very proud to see that there were palace families whose work was selling bananas and martabak. Because there was a past in our history, the president's children entered a very elite space and they were not formed in the spaces they entered," he explained.

"So once Pak Jokowi showed his son did not enter that room, he entered an unexpected room," continued Feri.

Later, said Feri, the community was finally carried away by political conditions created by the authorities for the sake of a handful of people. Especially with the parliamentary threshold, aka parliamentary threshold, which makes people have no choice in choosing their leaders.

"And we just realized that we didn't choose Prabowo because we knew his track record and were forced to choose Jokowi. It turned out that Jokowi himself chose Prabowo," said Feri.
