Thousands of Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) of the Indonesian Ministry of Law and Human Rights 2024 in West Sumatra province this Saturday participated in the Basic Computer Selection (SKD).

The computer-based test (CAT) was carried out at the YPTK Putera Indonesia University (UPI) Campus convention building in Padang, and was opened directly by the Head of the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Amrizal.

"Our commitment is to organize an honest and transparent SKD CAT test for all participants," Amrizal said in Padang, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 19.

He said various channels and mechanisms had been applied at the test location to prevent fraud practices.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Administration Division Ramelan Suprihadi said the SKD test would last for 14 days starting Saturday (19/10).

The number of participants who will take the test in the West Sumatra area is more than 23,000 people, so the committee must divide the participants into 49 sessions.

"Tests will be divided into 49 sessions, each session has 495 participants. All efforts and potentials are deployed to ensure the test is in accordance with the schedule that has been made," explained Ramelan, who is the Chairman of the Regional Committee for the Selection of CPNS in the West Sumatra region.

He explained that CPNS in 2024 has a quota of 266 people for West Sumatra, with details of the SLTA level of 225 people and 41 graduates.

Monitoring in the field, the test participants were seen taking the black-and-white uniform exam guided by the regional committee. Before entering the exam room, the CPNS must go through four posts formed by the committee at the test location.

The first location is a storage locker, then the second post is verification of participant data, the third is taking PIN numbers for exams.

After taking the PIN number, the committee again examined the participants to avoid smuggling items or something that was prohibited. After it is confirmed that it is safe, the participants enter the sterilization room and then into the SKD exam room where there is a table along with a row of laptops.

To all participants, Ramelan advised them to take the test honestly, and believe in their own abilities.

"There is no need to heed that parties who can promise graduation off track, I emphasize that it does not exist. It is better to believe in yourself," he explained.

Ramelan said the SKD CAT was organized by employees of the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office as the regional committee, a team from the central Ministry of Law and Human Rights, and the National Civil Service Agency (BKN).

"To ensure that the test takes place honestly and transparently, we also cooperate with the West Sumatra Ombudsman to participate in supervising the test," he explained.

According to him, any information needed by CPNS has been socialized long ago through various social media platforms belonging to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of West Sumatra, as well as mass media.
