JAKARTA - The Muhammadiyah Organization formed a strategic and operational business entity specifically assigned to manage mining concessions facilitated by the government.

"We formed an institution in Muhammadiyah. I don't want us to accept mining, then we don't work on it," said Head of the Muhammadiyah Mining Management Team, Muhadjir Effendy at the Jakarta Presidential Palace complex, reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 18.

In addition to forming a corporate corporate strategy, said Muhadjir, Muhammadiyah also plans to form a Limited Company (PT) unit to manage the mining sector which is more than one point.

Regarding the mine location that will be worked on, Muhadjir has not disclosed specifically, because it is still under study from the internal survey team which is filled by mining lecturers at Muhammadiyah University.

He said the internal survey involved by Muhammadiyah was still reviewing former mining areas from Adaro Energy Indonesia, Kideco, and Arutmin companies.

"We have formed an internal survey of Adaro, Kideco, Arutmin. So, we have formed a team for our internal survey to make sure. The mine is complicated," he said.

Muhadjir, who is also the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), said that the five faculty mining study programs in Muhammadiyah have collaborated with several mining companies.

"The campus is also close to mines, for example, the University of Muhammadiyah Mataram is near Newmont. Then, the East Kalimantan Muhammadiyah University is near the KPC. There is also in Berau, it's with Berau Coal," he said.

"In fact, recently, the mining company Berau Coal compensated Muhammadiyah University in the form of land containing coal," Muhadjir added.

Muhadjir Effendy conveyed the organization's commitment to expanding operations in the mining sector, not only to stop at the concession of the Coal Mining Concession Work Agreement (PK2B).

"Until whenever we will move there, maybe even the coal will continue to be expanded, maybe nickel and others," he said.
