National Police Chief Forms 8 Task Force To Secure Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration Sunday, October 20

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said thousands of joint personnel were deployed to secure the inauguration of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President for the period 2024-2029. They are divided into eight task forces (satgas).

"Of course, this security is divided into 8 task forces," Sigit told reporters after the Security Preparedness Ceremony at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, Friday, October 18.

It was not explained in detail what task force was formed regarding the security of Prabowo-Gibran's inauguration as President and Vice President.

It is only conveyed if the task force will monitor potential disturbances. Because, there will be community activities that will 'color' the process of inauguration the President and Vice President for the period 2024-2029.

"Then what we have to anticipate is the potential of the community to carry out activities, of course there are those who join in welcoming the inauguration plan, including perhaps praying," he said.

"But on the other hand, there are groups that we monitor that will carry out action activities," continued Sigit.

The National Police and the TNI, continued Sigit, have prepared steps to prevent disturbances in these activities.

It is known that around 15,000 joint TNI-Polri personnel and the Regional Government (Pemda) were involved in securing the inauguration of Indonesian leaders.

"Of course we and the TNI commander continue to work to mitigate minimizing," said Sigit.

The inauguration of Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka as President and Vice President for the period 2024-2029 will be held at the MPR-DPR Building on October 20, 2024.
