JAKARTA - Tsinghua University Professor, Stella Christie, is one of 54 deputy ministerial candidates who are included in Prabowo Subianto's elected presidential cabinet and vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka for the 2024-2029 period. As a scientist, Stella has a number of visions to assist the government in achieving the goal of Advanced Indonesia.

Stella insists as a scientist that its main role is to formulate a big vision in science and conduct methodological experiments to support the achievement of this vision.

"For scientists, I first have to determine what the big vision in the field of science is. Then, after that we have to determine how we can ask about that vision with our experimental methods," he said when met in Hambalang, Thursday.

Stella also shared about her educational journey. He emphasized that he received education in Indonesia, and did not come from international schools. The scholarship he got led him to Harvard University, one of the best universities in the world.

"I grew up here, I from kindergarten to grade 1 high school studied in Jakarta and not at the international school. I got a scholarship to Harvard, it was a scholarship, so the result of education from this country," he said.

During the briefing in Hambalang, Stella admitted that he had received many useful insights to prepare himself in facing responsibilities as deputy minister.

"I am very grateful that being given today's briefing is really preparing, but I also have a lot of questions about how in the future I can really serve Indonesia," he said.

Stella juga menegaskan komitmennya untuk membantu mewujudkan visi Prabowo Subianto dalam membangun kesejahteraan Indonesia.

"So how can we realize his vision to build the welfare of this country," he said.

Stella Christie graduated from Harvard University with the title magna cum laude with highest honorarium in 2004. After completing his undergraduate education, he continued his studies at Northwestern University and earned a postgraduate and doctoral degree in 2010.

As a scientist in cognitive science, Stella explores the way mind works, including understanding the brain, human, animal, and artificial intelligence (AI) thinking processes.

His expertise is interdisciplinary, combining various disciplines to study and understand these cognitive aspects.
