JAKARTA - The Jagakarsa Metro Police Team, South Jakarta, has arrested the perpetrator of the theft with the initials US who often targets the belongings of the patient's family at the hospital.

The 41-year-old perpetrator was arrested on the same day the theft was carried out at 04.04 WIB at Zahirah Hospital, South Jakarta.
Kompol Eko said the arrest was revealed thanks to the surveillance camera (CCTV) at the hospital which recorded the crime.
The stolen item was a bag containing a laptop worth Rp. 6 million.
The perpetrator stole the bag containing the laptop from one of the patient's families in the third floor inpatient room.
Armed with the CCTV footage, the Criminal Investigation Unit team led by Adjunct Police Commissioner Mujianto then carried out an investigation and made a profile of the perpetrator's face that was recorded on the surveillance camera.
Based on this identification, the police then carried out surveillance until finally arresting the perpetrator in less than 24 hours.
"The perpetrator is an ordinary citizen, so it is not from employees or health workers at the hospital," added Eko.
Currently, the perpetrator is being questioned at the Jagakarsa Police, including investigating the custodians, considering that theft at the hospital is not the first time.
The police charged the perpetrator with article 363 of the Criminal Code related to theft with the threat of a minimum sentence of five years in prison.
