Seven Special TPS Built In Rutan And Salemba Prisons For Thousands Of Prisoners During Vocational

The Central Jakarta General Election Commission has established seven Special Voting Places (TPS) at the State Detention Center (Rutan) and the Salemba Correctional Institution (Lapas) for the 2024 Jakarta Regional Head Election (Pilkada).

"Of course, in Central Jakarta there are seven Special TPS provided at the Salemba Rutan and Salemba Prison during the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada in November," said Head of the Central Jakarta City General Election Commission (KPU) Effniadiansyah, ANTARA, Thursday, October 17, 2024.

Efni detailed that the seven polling stations were scattered in the Salemba State Detention Center (Rutan) as many as four polling stations and three other polling stations available at Salemba Prison, Central Jakarta.

The list of Permanent Voters (DPT) for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada at the Salemba Rutan is 2,212 voters with details of male voters as many as 2,190 and 22 female voters.

Meanwhile, in the Salemba Prison, the number of DPT was 1,325, with details of male voters as many as 1,309 and 16 female voters.

"The total number of DPT for the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada in special locations is 3,537 voters, with details of 2,190 voters at the Salemba Rutan and 1,325 voters at the Salemba Prison," said Efni.

Efni said that the provision of this Special TPS aims to facilitate voters who cannot use their voting rights in their respective domiciles on voting day.

Logistics at the Special TPS, said Efni, will be adjusted to the voting schedule and needs at the special location.

Logistics that have been available to date are still being stored at the Cempaka Putih District Office in the form of 145 ballot boxes and 580 ballot booths.

"Actually, for Special TPS, it's the same as the general one, but it's special because we will schedule it according to the needs at the special location, including the time.

Therefore, the distribution of Pilkada logistics is already in the sub-district.

"Later, it will only be given to a special location according to the number of needs," said Efni.

The Central Jakarta KPU (Jakpus) has distributed 1,542 ballot boxes and 6,168 ballot booths in eight sub-districts in the area in preparation for the implementation of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada.

The rest of the logistics for the Jakarta Pilkada, such as tissue and ink cables, are still waiting for the direction of the DKI Jakarta KPU. Meanwhile, ballots are still in the distribution process from the provider's warehouse.

The logistics distribution was immediately attended by the DKI Jakarta Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), Central Jakarta Bawaslu and the ranks of the District Election Supervisory Committee (Panwascam).
