Anies Will Attend Prabowo-Gibran Inauguration, Ganjar Has Not Responded

JAKARTA - Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad Muzani revealed that former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan will attend the inauguration of the elected president-vice president Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Muzani said he immediately confirmed Anies after the official invitation to inaugurate the president and vice president from the MPR was sent to his residence

The inauguration of Prabowo-Gibran will take place on October 20, 2024 at the MPR building, Jakarta at around 10:00 WIB.

"I had contact with Mas Anies earlier and connected with him. God willing, he will say he will attend," said Muzani at the MPR building, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 15.

Apart from Anies, Muzani has also contacted the candidate for presidential candidate in 2024, Ganjar Pranowo, to ensure his presence at the Prabowo-Gibran inauguration ceremony. An official invitation from the MPR has also been sent to Ganjar, but the PDIP politician has not responded.

"I contacted Mas Ganjar but it has not been connected," said Muzani.

Previously, Muzani said that his party had also sent invitations to candidates for presidential and vice-presidential candidates who had previously fought in the 2024 presidential election, namely Ganjar Pranowo, Anies Baswedan, Mahfud MD and Muhaimin Iskandar. He will later check their certainty to attend the inauguration ceremony of the elected president and vice president.

Meanwhile, for the former president and former vice president, the MPR leadership will come directly from Megawati Soekarnoputri, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Try Sutrisno, Boediono, and Jusuf Kalla.

"We will come, we will invite the former presidents and former vice presidents so that they can also attend on October 20 as well," added Muzani.

In addition, said Muzani, many foreign leaders have stated that they are ready to attend, especially ASEAN and Asian countries as well as Indonesian friendly countries in America and Europe. The MPR has coordinated with various parties to ensure the security and protocols needed by the leaders of other countries.

"All, almost all ASEAN countries and the countries around us, including friendly countries with us and European countries, other countries, Western countries," concluded Muzani.
