Aceh Prosecutor's Office Detains 6 Suspects Of Corruption In Fish Procurement Of IDR 15.7 Billion Kakap

The Aceh High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has arrested six suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of high-profile fish cultivation and runcah feed for victims of conflicts with state losses reaching Rp15.7 billion.

Head of the Legal Information and Public Relations Section of the Aceh Attorney General's Office, Ali Rasab Lubis, said the detention was carried out after the public prosecutor received the delegation of cases or phase two from the High Prosecutor's Office investigators.

"The public prosecutor has detained six suspects in alleged corruption in the procurement of fish cultivation and runcah feed for victims of conflicts in East Aceh Regency in the Aceh Reintegration Agency," said Ali Rasab as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 15.

The six suspects are Suhendri as the Head of the Aceh Reintegration Agency (BRA), Zulfikar as the Coordinator or liaison for the Chairman of the BRA, Muhammad as the Budget User Authority (KPA).

In addition, Mahdi as the Technical Implementation Officer for Activities (PPTK), Zamzami as the company borrower and Hamdani as the coordinator of partner associations or activity implementers.

The suspects were detained for the process of handling the case at the prosecution stage. The suspects were detained at the Class IIB Banda Aceh State Detention Center (Rutan) for the next 20 days.

"In addition, the reason for the detention was due to concerns that the suspects fled, damaged or destroyed evidence and or repeated the crime as regulated in Article 21 Paragraph (4) of the letter a of the Criminal Procedure Code," he said.

The Attorney General's Office explained that BRA in the 2023 fiscal year received an allocation of more than IDR 15.7 billion in funds. The budget is for the expenditure of grants for the procurement of fish and feed cultivation to victims of conflicts in East Aceh Regency.

Based on the results of the investigation and investigation, information was found that there were nine groups of beneficiaries. However, the group stated that it did not receive assistance for fish seeds and feed and never signed the handover report.

"For the suspects, evidence was obtained that they as parties were responsible for the alleged irregularities in the budget for the procurement of fish cultivation and runcah feed for victims of conflicts in East Aceh Regency," he said.
