Central Kalimantan Gubernatorial Election Debate: Only Abdul Razak Sri Suwanto Focuses On Opening Jobs

JAKARTA - Candidates for Governor and Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan) number 4, Abdul Razak 'Sri Suwanto conveyed his vision and mission in the inaugural meeting of the 2024 Central Kalimantan gubernatorial election Monday, October 14 evening.

The debate has the theme "Improving the Welfare of the People of Central Kalimantan through a Just and Sustainable Economy" held by the Central Kalimantan Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) in Switzerland-Belhotel Danum Palangka Raya on Monday, October 14 evening.

As is known, in this debate only this couple with the ASRI jargon consistently voiced about employment and increased the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). In fact, Sri Suwanto conveyed this when he talked about gender equality in work, where the number of female workers in Central Kalimantan was less in number when compared to male workers.

"To overcome this, we focus on MSMEs. These MSMEs are very suitable for women because they do not work physically but produce sufficient income. If ASRI is given the mandate to lead Central Kalimantan, God willing, men and women will be equal and get decent jobs in Central Kalimantan so that there is no longer unemployment," said Sri Suwanto who is also the Chairman of the Kulowarga Association in Jowo or Pakuwojo Central Kalimantan - the organization that houses Javanese people throughout Central Kalimantan.

Meanwhile, Abdul Razak, who received questions about the opportunity for Central Kalimantan to become a developed province because his region, which intersects with the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), was responded to by Abdul Razak with great optimism, as long as the local government was able to seize economic opportunities that had not yet been maximized. Of course, this opportunity has been captured by the ASRI pair.

We can take advantage of natural potential. In addition, superior human resources will also make the beginning to reduce unemployment and alleviate poverty. Central Kalimantan is very rich in Natural Resources (SDA) which can be used for IKN development, for example, our wood which has very good quality and then coal supply to IKN will be an opportunity for Central Kalimantan to increase employment opportunities," said Razak, who is also the Regent of West Kotawaringin for the 2000-2005 period.

Unlike ASRI, which focuses on increasing employment, candidate pair number 1, Willy Yoseph Habib Ismail does not agree with what ASRI has to say. Willy-Habib Ismail prefers a way out to alleviate poverty by opening up isolated areas.

"I don't agree, the only way is to open the organization of areas in remote areas. Ensure basic education reaches them and ensure basic materials can also be distributed to the surrounding community," said Habib Ismail.

For three money, pair number 2 Nadalsyah Supian Hadi, and pair number 3 Agustiar Sabran Edy Pratowo also agreed on what was conveyed by candidate pair number 1 Willy-Habib Ismail.
