DPR Still Waiting For The Inauguration Of The President To Announce Partners Of 13 Commissions

JAKARTA - The DPR has agreed to add a Commission in the DPR from 11 to 13. However, the DPR is still waiting for the inauguration of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia to announce the partners working on the 13 commissions.

The reason is, there has been a change in the number of ministries in the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. So that the DPR needs to adjust the commissions formed with ministry posts.

"Until now, the consultation meeting that we held yesterday is in accordance with the mechanism, which only determines the number of commissions and the number of leaders. Also the number of additional bodies in the DPR," said DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, Tuesday, October 15.

"However, we are still waiting for an announcement from the elected president who will be sworn in on October 20 to announce how many ministries and ministries will be. From there, we will find out the number or ministry for us and then synergize or align with the commissions in the DPR which have been agreed to amount to 13 commissions," he continued.

Puan explained, after Prabowo announced his cabinet, the next mechanism is that faction leaders in the DPR will determine which faction members will be leaders in each of the commissions.

"It is the right of every faction leader to announce who the leaders in these commissions are, so it is not the right of the leadership of the DPR," explained Puan.

Puan said that the addition of the Commission from 11 to 13 was to strengthen the post of the new government ministry, which reportedly would amount to 45.

"And of course to synergize and smooth out plans for additional ministries which will be planned by the elected president or president who will be sworn in on 20 October," said the chairman of the PDIP DPP.

"(So) after the elected president is inaugurated to announce his cabinet, then we will announce partners from the 13 commissions in the DPR," said Puan.
