Escape, Recidivist Ranmor From Lampung Jumps From Flyover Senen, Lands On The Roof Of A Transjakarta Bus

JAKARTA The arrest of a motorcycle thief in the Gambir area, Central Jakarta is quite dramatic. This is because the perpetrator, who is known to have the initials MW (47), jumped from the flyover to avoid being chased by officers. MW managed to land on a Transjakarta bus, but his efforts were in vain, the man from Lampung was finally arrested by police officers.

According to the officer's statement, MW is a recidivist in a motorcycle theft case from Lampung which often acts in a number of areas in Jakarta.

After stealing motorbikes dozens of times in the areas of Yogyakarta, Tangerang and Jakarta, the MW action was stopped in Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Suspect MW was arrested while trying to escape from an ambush of officers who had chased him from Gambir to Senen. Right at Flyover Senen, the suspect MW, who was riding with his colleague MC (DPO), was intercepted at the Senen flyover.

However, the suspect MC (DPO) managed to escape with his stolen motorbike. Meanwhile, MW was desperate to jump from the flyover of Senen as high as 8 meters and land on the roof of a Transjakarta bus passing by at the location.

"MW jumped from the flyover to the Transjakarta bus which happened to pass below. But he was successfully secured," said Deputy Head of the Central Jakarta Metro Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Wakasat Reskrim), Kompol Rezeki Revi Respati to VOI, Monday, October 14.

During the arrest, the police also confiscated a homemade revolver belonging to the suspect MW. When in action, MW often carries homemade firearms to protect himself if caught.

"So he acted with three of his friends who are still DPOs. The three perpetrators are in pursuit, their identities are known," he said.

Based on the crime record, MW is a recidivist caught by Polda Metro Jaya who once stole a motorbike with 20 motorbikes of evidence.

Then MW was involved in the theft of an empty house and was arrested by the police in the Yogyakarta area, Central Java.

The suspect MW was also arrested by the Tangerang City Police with evidence of 20 stolen motorbikes.

Currently, the police are still developing the suspect MW to hunt down three other DPO perpetrators.
