CIANJUR - Police Resort (Polres) Cianjur, West Java, arrested three perpetrators of theft of swallow's nest DR and CS residents of Cianjur and WA residents of Tangerang-Banten with evidence of 38 kilograms of swallow's nest worth Rp130 million.
Cianjur Police Chief AKBP Yonky Rohman Dilatha said the three perpetrators were arrested after the victim, the owner of a swallow's nest in Haurwangi District, reported the theft case to the Cianjur Police on Friday (6/9).
"Officers were immediately deployed to reveal the perpetrators of the theft, which finally identified four people, three of whom were arrested and one person with the initials O was on the Cianjur Police wanted list (DPO)," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 8.

According to him, the DR perpetrator was charged with a criminal act of theft with a weight (curat) as referred to in Article 363 paragraph 2 of the KHUP with a penalty of nine years in prison.

Meanwhile, two other suspects were charged with criminal acts of malicious aid as referred to in Article 480 paragraph 1 letter E of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison.
"DR is the brain of theft by dismantling swallow's nest, WR acts as a liaison with collectors and CS serves as a courier delivering the stolen goods to the collectors," he said.
The police suspect that the three perpetrators are specialists in theft of swallow's nest because they already have a network to collectors outside the city of Cianjur who are ready to accommodate swallow's nest which has a price of up to millions per kilogram.
