Involved In The Murder Of TNI Members, Cartenz Peace Task Force Arrests 2 KKB Members

JAYAPURA - Head of the Cartenz Peace Operations Task Force 2024 Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani stated that his team and the Puncak Jaya Police arrested two members of the armed criminal group (KKB) who were involved in the shooting of civilians and TNI officers in Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua.

The arrests took place on Saturday (5/10) located on Jalan Trans Wamena-Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, Lumbuk Village, Tingginambut District.

"Currently, the two KKB members have been detained at the Puncak Jaya Police Headquarters, and are currently being investigated by investigators," said Head of Operations for the Cartenz-2024 Peace Task Force, Brigadier General Faizal Ramadhani, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 8.

It was said that the two KKB members who were arrested were Alison Wonda alias Kumara and Yotenus Wonda alias Micheli.

Both were arrested while crossing the Tingginambut and Kalome areas, said Brigadier General Pol Faizal, adding that both were suspected of being involved in a number of criminal acts, including the shooting of TNI officers in Puncak Jaya last March.

"When arrested, evidence was secured in the form of three cellphones, two bags, one noken, and three motorbikes," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Pol Faizal.

Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani, who is also the Deputy Chief of the Papua Police, said Yotenus Wonda alias▁duniaoni was involved in the shooting on March 17 which killed Sertu Mar Ismunandar and injured Sergeant Salim Lestluhu next to the Mulia Health Center, Kampung Kulirik.

In front of investigators, Yotenus Wonda alias▁duniaoni admitted that he participated in planning an attack with several KKB members including Ternus Enumbi and Alison Wonda.

In the action, the perpetrator used SS1 long-barreled weapons and seized two short-barreled firearms belonging to the victim, and was involved in an attempted murder of Aan on May 31, and the shooting of Serma Anumerta Jefri E. May on August 15 at Sport Center, Pagaleme Village.

The role of Alison Wonda alias Kumara was involved in the shooting of Sertu Mar Ismunandar and the murder of a TNI member on January 5.

"The joint team is still trying to arrest KKB members who were involved in the shooting of both civilians and security forces," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force Brigadier General Faizal Rahmadani.
