Provincial Government Proposes Formation Of Sosek Malindo Level Kaltara Or Ranking Serawak Country

TANJUNG SELOR - The Provincial Government of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) held a Discussion Meeting on the Preparation of the Malaysian Socio-Economic Work Paper Indonesia (Sosek Malindo) at the West Kalimantan Province Level (Kalbar)/Neighbor Level in 2024.

Head of the Bureau (Karo) of the Provincial Secretariat (Setprov) of Kaltara, Taufik Hidayat, chaired the meeting proposing the establishment of the North Kalimantan Provincial Sosek for the Level of North Kalimantan/Servak Country, Monday, October 7.

"We will voice this again for Sosek Malindo to stand alone, namely Kaltara Serawak," said Taufik Hidayat.

He said that while participating in Malindo's Sosek activities last year, Kaltara, who were in the West Kalimantan team, could only vote a little in the 2 countries forum.

"Hopefully they understand because so far there are only more Serawak consensus in West Kalimantan, both Kaltara and East Kalimantan, there are very few consensities," he said.

Currently, Kaltara's position is the same as West Kalimantan, with many similarities, namely provinces that are directly adjacent to the Malaysian state border, have the same problems in the fields of social, economic, defense and security.

However, during the cooperation between Sosek Malindo and Serawak, Kaltara was rarely exposed and received little attention in Kaltara. "We are part of the West Kalimantan Sosek, so our bargaining is too small, we are only part of the West Kalimantan team," he explained.

Taufik said that if the Malindo Sosek was formed in West Kalimantan Province/International Level of the Serawak and Sosek Malindo Province of Kaltara/Serawak Country Level, Kaltara would have more bargaining in developing the area.

"We will try to convey this proposal to the central government, the Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs center and friends of West Kalimantan Serawak friends," he said.

Taufik explained that in the near future there will be a Malindo Sosek Meeting in Singkawang, West Kalimantan, it is hoped that the sub-district head and regional apparatus at the border can participate in attending this meeting.

"I hope all colleagues at this border, sub-district heads and regional apparatus in the district can follow up, as well as Malinau and Nunukan districts can make the Malindo Sosek Secretariat easier to connect," he said.
