BANJARMASIN - South Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Winarto said investigators from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had brought several witnesses related to the arrest operation (OTT) to Jakarta.

"What we know is that there are some that have been investigated and some people have been brought to Jakarta," said Winarto in Banjarmasin as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 7.

However, Winarto said that his party did not know for sure the status of the witness brought was determined as a suspect or not in the OTT on Sunday (6/10) that night.

"I don't know for sure whether it has become a suspect or not," said Winarto, who also admitted that he could not reveal the evidence that was secured by investigators because it was the authority of the KPK.

Winarto admitted that the South Kalimantan Police were only asked by the KPK to help prepare and choose a place to carry out the examination of the alleged OTT.

According to Winarto, the location of the examination related to the OTT case depends on the request from KPK investigators who are considered safe in the South Kalimantan region. "Previously there was no coordination, only yesterday we received a call for a place to use, we welcome it," said the two-star police general.

The Banjarbaru Police, the ranks of the South Kalimantan Police, confirmed that KPK investigators used a room for examination.

"There is a Banjarbaru Police room used by the KPK for examination purposes," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Banjarbaru Police, AKP Haris Wicaksono.

Based on observations, two vehicles from the South Kalimantan Provincial Government were at the Banjarbaru Police after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which was suspected of carrying out a hand arrest operation (OTT).

The two vehicles are black with the red DA-1152-PE number plate and the white DA-1371-PG plate is Mitsubishi Xpander Cross.

The KPK held a hand arrest operation (OTT) within the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of South Kalimantan on Sunday, October 6. It is suspected that there was a handover of money addressed to the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor or known as Uncle Birin through his trusted people.

"It is reasonable to suspect (had something to do with the Governor of South Kalimantan Sahbirin Noor, ed). The new money has only reached the hands of the alleged governor's trust," said KPK Deputy Chairman Alexander Marwata when confirmed, Monday, October 7.

Alexander has not detailed further about the alleged receipt of the money. He only said that this kind of mode is often found by the KPK.
