DKI Jakarta KPU Considers Using Podium During The Cagub-Cawagub Debate

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) is considering using the podium during the debate for Candidates for Governor and Candidate for Deputy Governor in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) on Sunday 6 October.

"The use of the podium will still be decided after the rehearsal later," said Head of the Socialization, Education Division for Voters and Community Participation of the Jakarta KPU Astri Megatari at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 5.

Astri said that his party was still determining the layout of the stage blocking when doing a rehearsal.

The DKI KPU will also invite candidate pairs (paslon) to look together to decide whether or not the podium is necessary.

For other preparations, his party also coordinates with representatives of candidate pairs (paslon), the Police for security and organizers.

"The process of setting the stage, setting the location is expected at 15.00 WIB a dirty rehearsal. Later tonight at 21.00 WIB we will have a dress rehearsal," he said.

The DKI Jakarta KPU divided into six segments of the inaugural debate for the governor and deputy governor candidates (cagub-cawagub) in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada which began with the presentation of the vision and mission of each candidate pair.

Then, the second and third segments become part of the candidate pair, the fourth and fifth segments will be questioned between the candidate pairs and the six closing segments.

The inaugural debate is planned to take place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo), Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, on October 6 starting at 19.00 WIB. The duration of the debate will last for 150 minutes.

The DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) has scheduled a second phase of the debate for governor and deputy governor candidates in the Jakarta Pilkada on October 27, followed by a third debate on November 17.
