JAKATA - Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Yusuf Permana assessed that the series of apologies submitted by President Joko Widodo to the public on various occasions are proof of their seriousness in revitalizing the policies that have been implemented.

"A series of apologies that he conveyed on various occasions and locations show his seriousness in reflecting on the policies that have been implemented," Yusuf said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, October 3.

This statement relates to the moment of President Joko Widodo, who recently always took the time to apologize to the public on the sidelines of his work visits in various regions.

On several occasions, President Jokowi more often apologized while reviewing the people's market to check the prices of basic commodities.

Yusuf explained that President Joko Widodo had shown his humility and courage to apologize directly as an underperfect human being during his tenure.

This action, said Yusuf, is an attitude that shows integrity, statesmanship and deep concern for the responsibilities held by Jokowi as head of state.

According to Yusuf, the direct apologies conveyed at various important moments and in various areas also reflect direct relations with the people and show empathy.

"It is his commitment to the principles of strong transparency and accountability in his leadership," said Yusuf.

President Joko Widodo has at least five times apologized on the sidelines of working visits to various regions.

For the first time, President Jokowi apologized to the people via megaphone while visiting Soponyono Market, Surabaya, East Java, in early September.

The President again said goodbye and apologized to the people at Delimas Raya Market, Lubuk Pakam, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.

Third, the President said goodbye at Mawar Market, Pontianak, West Kalimantan, which at that time was also witnessed by SOE Minister Erick Thohir and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.
