Asked To Revoke The DOB Moratorium, Jokowi: I'm Only 3 Weeks Left, I Can't Decide On Strategic Things

ALOR - President Joko Widodo stated that he was reluctant to decide on strategic matters ahead of his retirement, or in the remaining three weeks it was time to end his term of office as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Jokowi when answering the question of whether he would revoke the moratorium on the new autonomous region (DOB) for the remainder of his term of office.

"I have only three weeks left, I must not decide on strategic matters," said Jokowi on the sidelines of a working visit in Alor, East Nusa Tenggara, Antara, Thursday, October 3.

Jokowi also asked reporters to ask the President and the new government about the revocation of the DOB moratorium later.

Regarding the revocation of the DOB moratorium, previously the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian also said that the revocation of the moratorium on the formation of a new autonomous region (DOB) was handed over by the current government to the new government or the next period.

So far, the government has not opened a moratorium on the new autonomous region (DOB). This moratorium has been in effect since the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

However, the Jokowi government provides exceptions for the expansion of the Papua region, in order to accelerate the development of the welfare of the people in Papua and bring community services closer there.
