Israel Attacks Again Damascus Russia, 3 Civilians Killed

Three civilians were killed and three others injured in Israeli airstrikes in the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Reuters told Syrian state news agency SANA citing military sources reporting Israeli airstrikes targeting a residential building on the outskirts of Mezzah in western Damascus, Wednesday, October 2.

Israel has carried out attacks on targets linked to Iran in Syria over the years, but has stepped up the attack since the October 7 attack last year by Palestinian militant group Hamas in Israeli territory.

Earlier in a separate attack, Safaa Ahmed, a well-known Syrian television host, was killed along with two other people in an Israeli attack in Damascus.

"The Public Authority of Radio and Television announced the death of host Safaa Ahmed as a martyr following Israel's dangerous aggression in the capital, Damascus," the report said.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense said the Israeli military targeted Damascus with drones and aircraft at around 02.00 local time from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights.

Our air defense system faced missiles and drones of aggression and shot down most of them, the ministry said, citing three civilians and nine others injured in the attack.
