JAKARTA - Candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta number 01, Ridwan Kamil received a special advice when visiting the residence of Betawi figure and founder of Bamus Betawi, Haji Nuri Thaher on Jalan DI Panjaitan, East Jakarta, Monday, September 30.

Chairman of the Advisory Council of the DPD of the Golkar Party Jakarta, Bambang Waluyo Djojohadikusumo, said that there were many important messages that Haji Nuri entrusted to Ridwan Kamil regarding building a new, more advanced Jakarta.

"He advised Ridwan Kamil to pay attention to public health service issues such as hospitals, problems with the arrangement of slum areas, related to Betawi customary institutions or councils, and many more," said Bambang in his statement in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, October 1.

He who accompanied Ridwan Kamil when meeting with Haji Nuri revealed that one of Haji Nuri's messages to Ridwan Kamil which was quite touching was related to the work program.

"He said the governor's work program was only half. While the other half were the aspirations of the people," said the man who is usually called Jojo Wahab.

Haji Nuri, he said, also asked Ridwan Kamil not to hesitate to ask for his help in dealing with problems in Jakarta. One of them is related to Bamus Betawi dualism.

"If there is anything, I am ready to be involved, including uniting Bamus Betawi. To make it more familiar, more friendly and family," said Haji Nuri to Ridwan Kamil.

Haji Nuri, known as the Betawi Dedengkot, is one of the founders of the Betawi Deliberative Body (Bamus). Currently, he is the Chairman of the Bamus Betawi Customary Council.

Judging from his pedigree or nasab, the man who is familiarly called Babe Nuri is not just anyone. He is originally Betawi, because he was born and raised in Jakarta. The gathering for up to five generations was born in Jakarta.

So far, Haji Nuri has been a role model. No wonder, the governors of Jakarta previously also asked for advice or advice from Haji Nuri, starting from Sutiyoso, Fauzi Bowo to Anies Baswedan.

On the occasion of the gathering, Haji Nuri prayed for Ridwan Kamil to become governor of Jakarta for the period 2024-2029.
