President Jokowi: Pancasila Is Not Only A Legacy, But A Mandate That Must Be Maintained

JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo reminded Pancasila Sanctity Day which is commemorated every October 1 that the national value is not just a legacy, but a mandate that must be maintained.

The statement was made by President Jokowi through an illustration uploaded through the official Instagram account @jokowi on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

"The day of the Pancasila Sanctity reminds us that national values are not only inheritance, but a mandate that must be maintained," the illustration said in a statement.

The President also invited all Indonesians to reflect on the extent to which to practice the values of Pancasila in everyday life.

"In the midst of the challenges of the times, let us think to what extent we have practiced Pancasila in everyday life," wrote President Jokowi.

The illustration depicts the symbol of the State, namely the Garuda bird with five Pancasila symbols in the middle.

On the right and left of Garuda, there were seven revolutionary heroes who died in the G30S incident, namely General Ahmad Yani, Lt. Gen. Suprapto, Lt. Gen. S. Parman, Lt. Gen. M.T Haryono, Major General DI Panjaitan, Major General Sutoyo Siswomiharjo and Captain Pierre Tendean.

Then under the illustration of Garuda and seven revolutionary heroes, President Joko Widodo is depicted wearing a white shirt and black cap celebrating Pancasila Sanctity Day with Indonesian people from various ethnic groups.
