KPK Says 5 Locations Have Been Searched Regarding Alleged Corruption Of Mining Business Permits In East Kalimantan

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed that five locations have been searched to look for evidence related to allegations of corruption in the management of mining business permits in East Kalimantan (Kaltim). This forced effort was carried out at the end of last September.

"In an effort to find evidence, investigators searched five locations in East Kalimantan from September 25 to September 27," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters during confirmation, Tuesday, October 1.

Tessa did not specify the location visited by investigators. However, based on the information obtained, one of them is the residence of the former Governor of East Kalimantan, Awang Faroek Ishak.

"From the forced effort, documents and electronic evidence were found," said the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Furthermore, Tessa said, the evidence found by the investigators was confiscated and will be confirmed to the witnesses. Currently, 32 people have been questioned.

Previously reported, the KPK said it was investigating allegations of corruption related to mining business permits (IUP) in East Kalimantan. The investigation was carried out since 19 September.

In this case, three suspects have been named. The anti-corruption commission has also searched a number of locations in East Kalimantan, including the house of former East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak.

In addition, the anti-corruption commission has also asked the Directorate General of Immigration to prevent three people from leaving the country. They are AFI, DDWT, and ROC.

Meanwhile, based on the information obtained, two of them are Awang Faroek Ishak and his son, Dayang Dona Walfiares Tania or Dayang Donna Faroek. Prevention is carried out for six months to facilitate their request for information.
