Jokowi Sees The Development Of The Mandalika MotoGP In 3 Years Very Good

LOMBOK - President Joko Widodo appreciates the development of the MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara, in the last three years.

This appreciation was conveyed by the Head of State after watching the world motorcycle racing event, Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024, at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok Regency.

"I see the development in these three years is very good, especially in management, the management is better, the facilities also look better," said Jokowi in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, September 29.

In addition to the better implementation, President Jokowi also appreciated the presence of local crews from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who showed support for the empowerment of local workers.

"For the crew, I am happy that the 3,000 crew here all come from NTB. That's what I am happy about," said Jokowi.

Jokowi also highlighted the importance of evaluation and improvement for better implementation in the future. He emphasized that all shortcomings will continue to be improved in order to improve the quality of this event.

"I think what we still lack is evaluation, fix, which still lacks evaluation, correct, correct, fix," said the President.

The President also said that the organizers, Dorna Sports, gave a positive response to the implementation of MotoGP in Mandalika this year.

The President said that Dorna appreciated the local culture displayed at the opening ceremony of the racing event.

"Earlier, Dorna commented that our implementation was indeed different, very good, there was a national anthem and there was also a very good dance," he said.

Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2024 in Mandalika has succeeded in attracting the world's attention and attracting motorcycle racing fans, both from within and outside the country.

President Jokowi's support for this event also emphasized the importance of international sports for Indonesia, both in terms of tourism and the economy.

On that occasion, the President directly handed over the championship trophy accompanied by the Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir. After watching the MotoGP race, the President left for Jakarta.
