The Booth Area Of The MG Car At GIIAS Bandung Collapsed Due To Visitors' Actions, Minor Injured Victims

BANDUNG - Organizer of the GIIAS Bandung 2024 automotive exhibition confirmed that one booth area for MG brands in the exhibition area, Sudirman Grand Ballroom, collapsed and was damaged.

Project Director of GIIAS 2024 Sri Vista Limbong revealed that the incident that took place yesterday at around 18.00 WIB was caused by one of the visitors.

"After a thorough investigation, it was found that damage to one of the MG outlet areas was caused by visitors who observed one of the vehicles that accidentally caused the incident," said Sri Vista in a statement in Bandung, Antara, Sunday, September 29. His party (Seven Event) as the joint committee with the MG immediately dispatched a security team to handle the scene quickly. The committee and the MG, said Sri Vista, confirmed that the victim suffered minor injuries. The impact of the incident was also limited to structural damage to booths and vehicle units. Rapid handling has been carried out together between Seven Event and MG in an effort to deal with victims of minor injuries at the location and security of the booth structure.

Rapid handling has been carried out jointly between Seven Events and MG in an effort to deal with minor injuries to victims at the location and secure the booth structure.

His party also ensured that the condition of the exhibition location was safe and conducive before it was opened to the public, on the last day of the implementation of GIIAS Bandung 2024 on Sunday (29/9).

"We take this unwanted incident seriously, together with the MG, quick handling steps have been taken, and a thorough evaluation of the incident that occurred has also been carried out immediately, so that in the future it does not happen again," said Sri Vista.

Meanwhile, Vice President of MG Motor Indonesia, Frank Zhou also revealed collaborative steps with the Seven Event to conduct investigations, quickly handle minor injuries, and thoroughly evaluate so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.

The organizers of GIIAS Bandung and MG, he said, ensured that booths had been repaired and were in a safe condition for visitors before reopening to the public. Organizers will also conduct a thorough evaluation to prevent similar incidents in the future.

"We regret the occurrence of this incident and have taken serious steps in handling the post-incident. We also ensure that every injured victim receives the necessary medical care and support. Safety remains our top priority. Therefore, together with the organizers, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our booth and its surrounding area and ensure similar incidents do not happen again," Frank said.
