KUPANG - Class IIA Kupang Penitentiary, East Nusa Tenggara Province formed three teams to search and chase a correctional inmates (WBP) named Yanri Alion Foat who fled last Friday.

"Currently we are conducting a search and pursuit. We have met with his family in So'e, South Central Timor Regency (TTS) to find out the whereabouts of the WBP," said Kupang Class IIA Kalapas Antonius H Jawa Gili in Kupang, Antara, Sunday, September 29.

This was conveyed in connection with the WBP case which escaped from the prison while in a period of 12 years in prison.

Antonius said that the three teams formed were placed in the Kupang port area to anticipate if the WBP fled from NTT by ship.

Then also urban areas to check for his whereabouts at a number of points in Kupang City, then also in an out-of-town area, namely Soe City, which is the hometown concerned.

He explained that before the WBP fled, on Friday (27/9) morning at 08.00 WITA, he left the prison under escort by officers because he was asked to organize the park in front of the Class IIA Kupang prison office.

Everything went safely and smoothly until the lunch was over. However, at 15.30 WITA, it was discovered that WBP left its work post without being noticed by other WBP colleagues and bodyguards.

Prison officers then suspected that the WBP had left the area but until 16.55 WITA the WBP had not yet returned.

Finally, Kalapas, then ordered to search for the WBP.

"We have also made a letter requesting assistance to search for prisoners to the Kupang City Police Chief, Kupang Regency as well as all Polsek, Kodim and Koramil in Kupang City and Regency," he said.

Antonius admitted that with this incident his party was committed to improving and fixing the rules of prisoners and escorting prisoners who worked outside the prison. "We will try to get the prisoner back," he said.
