Fire At Bakamla Building Allegedly Coming From The Komnas Perempuan Office Area

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Intermediate Public Relations Officer for the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), Colonel Gugun S. Rachman, suspects that the fire that occurred in his building came from the 6th floor.

"The fire was detected by guard personnel in Bakamla RI, which is thought to have started from the 6th floor," said Gugun, Sunday, September 29.

Gugun said that the 6th floor was used by the National Commission (Komnas) for Women. Meanwhile, the other floors that caught fire were used by the Bung Karno Foundation and its parties.

Gugun explained that since 2017 in the building, Bakamla did not only occupy it. There will still be several foundations and the National Commission (Komnas) for Women.

"So Bakamla starting from 2017 occupies the Pioneer of Independence building where there are 6 floors in the Pioneer of Independence building. The 1st floor is used by Bakamla, the 3rd floor is used by the Bung Karno foundation, the 4th floor is used by Bakamla RI and the 6th floor is used by Komnas Perempuan," he said.

He said not all floors were burned from the fire incident. (Like) the 2nd floor, I saw only the impact of smoke and debris," he said

Gugun ensured that all important documents at the Bakamla building had been secured. However, his party will record the items or objects affected in the incident.

"Furthermore, Bakamla will make an inventory, namely first we will secure personnel, secondly document security, thirdly material security," he said.

For information, the Indonesian Bakamla building, Menteng area, Central Jakarta, caught fire. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 29, morning.

Central Jakarta Metro Police are investigating 16 builders or construction workers in the building. The goal is to find out the cause of the fire.
