JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has confirmed that the re-operation of the Balongan Refinery, Indramayu, West Java, will soon be carried out. This followed the fire extinguishing of the Indramayu refinery.

In line with that, the process of investigating the cause of the incident is ongoing, and its resolution will be accelerated. This is in accordance with the direction of the Board of Commissioners of PT. Pertamina (Persero) at the coordination meeting of the Board of Commissioners and Directors this morning.

This decision is a form of Pertamina's commitment to the application of the principle of zero tolerance for any incidents that occur within Pertamina.

This was conveyed by Pertamina's Senior Vice President for Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Agus Suprijanto shortly after a coordination meeting between the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors.

"In accordance with the policy of the board of directors and the direction of the Board of Commissioners, Pertamina fully supports the investigation process carried out by the authorities. The management will give strict sanctions if it is found that there is an element of negligence in this incident, ”said Agus in an official statement, Thursday, April 1.

Furthermore, Agus explained that since the incident occurred, Pertamina has formed an internal investigation team in collaboration with law enforcement officials (APH). Pertamina opens the widest possible access to APH to carry out investigations.

"This team will coordinate with the authorities to carry out a thorough investigation. The board of commissioners and the Board of Directors do not tolerate negligence in the field," Agus concluded.
