Kwan Cherry Lai, Commissioner Of Brandoville Studio Menteng, Becomes A Fugitive In Employee Persecution Cases

JAKARTA - The Class 1 Immigration Office of Non TPI Central Jakarta confirmed that the fugitive from the Central Jakarta Metro Police, who is a Hong Kong citizen, has left Indonesia since August 29, 2024.

"On August 23, 2024, the guarantor submitted an Exit Permit Only (EPO) application to the Central Jakarta Immigration Office. Coupled with crossing data that Kwan Cherry Lai had left Indonesian territory on August 29, 2024, through Soekarno-Hatta airport," said Head of the Class 1 Immigration Office. Non TPI Central Jakarta, Ronald Arman Abdullah when confirmed by reporters, Thursday, September 26.

Ronal said that his party had upheld the law in every action. According to Central Jakarta Immigration data, a fugitive from the Police named Kwan Cherry Lai with Hong Kong citizenship holds a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) which is valid until April 15, 2025.

"Kwan Cherry Lai is active in Indonesia as a Commissioner of a company engaged in animated games," he said.

Ronald further explained, based on the results of administrative checks through the Immigration Management Information System, it was known that Kwan Cherry Lai entered Indonesian territory using her first Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) in March 2022.

"Furthermore, Kwan Cherry Lai extended the second ITAS in March 2023, and the third ITAS extension was carried out in March 2024," he said.

As is known, the alleged case of employee torture by the boss of the game art company and animation 'Brandoville Studio' is still being investigated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

"There is information received about August 29, 2024, the reported party has been registered to leave Indonesia," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Wednesday, September 18.

The information was obtained by the police based on the results of coordination with the Immigration Office. However, it was not clearly conveyed about the purpose of Kwan Cherry Lai, who is the reported boss and boss of the game art and animation company 'Brandoville Studio'.

Allegedly, Kwan Cherry Lai fled to Hong Kong. Because, it is his home country. So far, Ade emphasized that this case will be investigated and thoroughly investigated. Thus, justice can be upheld for the whole community.

"This will continue to be contested and this case will be thoroughly investigated by investigators, currently the investigation stage is still being investigated by the Central Jakarta Metro Police and the Ditreskrimum," said Ade.

Based on the victim's confession with the initials CS, the violence carried out by Kwan Cherry Lai has been going on since 2022. The violence was in the form of scattering, verbal violence, not paying overtime wages, so that it was not given the right to take time off religious holidays.

The case of violence experienced by CS victims occurred from 2022 to August 2024 at the Brandoville Studio company located on Jalan Sumenep No. 23, Menteng, Central Jakarta.

On Tuesday, September 17, the incident at Brandoville Studio Menteng was also installed with a police line by the Central Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim.

The victim CS reported Kwan Cherry Lai regarding the physical violence case to the Polda Metro Jaya. Meanwhile, regarding the Employment Law, the victim reported to the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

Kwan Cherry Lai, has a total of 230 employees and female employees. Until now, the police are still looking for the whereabouts of fugitive Kwan Cherry Lai.
