Police Arrest 2 Teenage Boys In East Lombok Who Had Kisses On Social Media

The police arrested two teenage boys in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara who had a kiss scene in a 59-second video on one of the social media platforms.

"We have secured both of them and are being investigated," said Head of the East Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) AKP I Made Dharma Yulia Putra, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 25.

The two teenage boys had the initials SR and MK. Both are still students. From the action in the video footage, the police suspect that the two are homosexual couples.

Dharma said his party secured both of them departing from residents' reports. The actions of the two teenage boys were reported because they were considered to have disturbed residents.

"So, we secure both of them to avoid people's reactions, because we know that actions like those in the video cannot be justified," he said.

Regarding the legal process against the two teenage boys, Dharma admitted that he could not convey it to the public. Instead, his party is still investigating through the examination of the two teenagers.

"What is clear is that it is still being investigated, for developments we will inform you later," he said.

The 59-second video was revealed for the first time uploaded to social media by the owner of the "Fan Tan" account. After the video went viral in cyberspace and was reported, the police took security measures.

Regarding the owner of the social media account who uploaded the video, it is now being investigated by the police.

"The Satreskrim opsnal team is currently developing, tracing who owns the 'Fan Tan' account that spread the video until it went viral," he said.
