JAKARTA - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi warned Israel not to underestimate Hezbollah's strength, after the country attacked Lebanon on Mondays and Tuesdays.
"Never underestimate Hezbollah's ability to defend Lebanon from any aggression," wrote Foreign Minister Araghchi on X, launching IRNA September 25.
"Hezbollah's true strength has its own capacity and support from the people. This is more than able to praise the base and colony of the Israeli regime," he explained in the tweet.
The high diplomat continued, saying, of course, "this fact is not an excuse for the Arab and Islamic worlds not to do their job against Israel".
Israel launched an expanded attack on Lebanese territory on the pretext of targeting the Hezbollah militant group's targets.
Lebanese Ministry of Health said at least 560 people were killed and 1,835 others injured as a result of Israeli attacks over the past two days, quoted by Al Jazeera.
The Hezbollah group and Israel have been involved in attacking each other on the Lebanese border over the past year, following the outbreak of the conflict in the Gaza Strip with Hezbollah expressing its support for the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
Israel's airstrikes in Beirut killed a senior Hezbollah commander on Tuesday as cross-border rocket attacks by both sides raised fears of a massive war.
Most recently, Hezbollah re-launched a missile into Israel with the target this time being the headquarters of the Mossad intelligence service near Tel Aviv. The attack comes shortly after the Israeli military said it intercepted the attack in an attack that rarely occurred far from the front line.
Reported by CNN, the militant group said it launched a Qadr 1 ballistic missile targeting Mossad headquarters on the outskirts of Tel Aviv "to support the Palestinian people who are steadfast in Gaza" and to "defense Lebanon and its people."
