Russian Guided Bomb Hits Ukrainian Kharkiv Apartment, 3 Killed, Dozens Injured

JAKARTA - Russia attacked a high-level apartment block in the northeastern city of Kharkiv of Ukraine in an attack with a guided bomb killing three people and injuring 15 others, while others are feared to be trapped under the rubble.

One of the high-rise buildings was directly affected, said Regional Governor Syniehubov.

Images from sites shared on social media show a hole penetrating the building.

Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov said via Telegram that Russia had attacked at least four districts in the afternoon, including the city's most populous territory.

Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city, and surrounding areas are often targeted by Russian attacks.

Moscow troops extensively used guided bombs that were so destructive that Ukraine's air defenses had difficulty intercepting them.

Russia has denied deliberately targeting civilians despite killing thousands of people since launching a massive invasion by 2022.
