DIY Regional Police Tighten Church Security During Easter 2021

JAKARTA - The Yogyakarta Special Region Police will tighten security for all churches during the 2021 Easter Day celebrations in that area.

"Hopefully we can secure the various churches in each district. We are also working with relevant stakeholders, both from the TNI and Pam Swakarsa. We also use the security of each church to secure it", said the Deputy Head of the Yogyakarta Regional Police. Brigjen R. Slamet Santoso reported by Antara, Thursday, April 1.

Slamet said the Yogyakarta Regional Police had held a special coordination meeting to prepare for security during the Easter series. Starting from Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Saturday and Sunday.

"We have prepared everything from preemptive, preventive, and law enforcement actions", he said.

The police officers from the Yogyakarta Regional Police's Satbrimob will also carry out sterilization through sweeping in several large churches in DIY.

"After the sterilization from Brimob, we will hand it back to each church", said Slamet.

For intensive security in the field, according to Slamet, there will be more police ranks from each regional police who will be assisted by the strength of Satbrimob and Dit Shabara DIY Regional Police.

"If there is a shortage from Shabara and Brimob, we have prepared it", he said.
