Nurul Ghufron Was Targeted By Elected DPR Members For Ethical Violations When Providing Anti-Corruption Briefings

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives elected from the PDI-P (PDIP) Tia Rahmania intervened with the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron. He mentioned the ethical violations he committed because he took advantage of his position.

This moment occurred when Ghufron gave anti-corruption material during a briefing event for members of the DPR and DPD RI which was held by the National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) on Monday, September 23. He was interrupted when explaining three types of corruption, namely petty corruption, grand corruption, and political corruption or state capture corruption.

Hearing this, Tia, who wore a jacket bearing the KPK logo, then interrupted and Ghufron gave her the opportunity to speak. The elected legislator from the Banten I electoral district admitted that he had an inner conflict while listening to the presentation given.

"Why don't I open this jacket? Because the KPK is the institution founded by the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, our general chairman. The honorable Mr. Nurul Ghufron, rather than you talking about theories like this, we all know that the country is not doing well," Tia said as quoted from YouTube. Lemhannas, Tuesday, September 24.

Tia then brought up the newly decided ethical case of Ghufron. "It's better if you talk about your case, how can you pass the council of ethics, then the PTUN is successful. How do you provide recommendations to ASN, how can the cases of other fathers pass," he said.

For information, Ghufron has just been decided to violate ethics by the KPK Supervisory Board. He is suspected of using his authority to deal with the mutation of an employee at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

"I'm sorry, you are not our product. Corruption is essentially ethics and moral, sir," said Tia.

Tia then closed her statement because she was asked by the committee to respect the ongoing forum. This legislator then died of the activity.

Finding this interruption, Ghufron admitted that he had no problem with the criticism leveled at him in the open forum. However, he did not respond because Tia left first.

"I'll answer it later, ma'am. If you ask questions, I will answer, but don't go out. Because asking questions, but not inside I will not answer," said Ghufron.

As previously reported, the KPK Supervisory Board stated that Nurul Ghufron as Deputy Chair of the KPK violated ethics. He was given moderate sanctions.

Ghufron was sentenced to moderate sanctions in the form of a written warning by the KPK Supervisory Board for violating Article 4 paragraph 2 letter a of Perdewas Number 3 of 2021. His income was also cut by 20 percent for six months.

The KPK Supervisory Board said that Ghufron was decided to violate ethics related to the abuse of influence or position behind the mutation of the ASN Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) named Andi Dwi Mandasari (ADM). He used his influence to contact Kasdi Subagyono as Secretary General and concurrently Acting Inspector General of the Ministry of Agriculture.

"Ghufron wants ADM, who is an employee of the Ministry of Agriculture's Inspectorate II, to be transferred to the Center for Agricultural Technology Assessment and Development in Malang," said the KPK Council. Meanwhile, when clarified, the employee admitted that he never asked.

The communication with the Ministry of Agriculture was carried out in conjunction with an investigation into the alleged procurement of cattle at the Ministry of Agriculture which is being handled by the KPK which allegedly involved members of the DPR RI.
