TMII And The Ministry Of Transportation Agree On The MoU For The Revitalization Of The Transportation Museum To Be More Modern

JAKARTA - The Transportation Museum, which is located in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area, East Jakarta, will be revitalized to make it more modern.

The plan has been signed in a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), the Transportation Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMP) and the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation on Sunday, September 22.

"After 33 years have passed, we feel it is necessary to develop to improve the quality and satisfaction of TMII visitors," said TMII Director Intan Ayu Kartika to reporters, Sunday, September 22.

Later, the transportation museum will be revitalized following the development of the times and trends in the role and function of the museum as a center of information and education at TMII.

For this reason, TMII and the Ministry of Transportation agreed to revitalize the Transportation Museum. This step, said Intan, was taken in order to expand the scope and substance of the material obtained by visitors.

"This includes providing a better, more attractive, and enjoyable visit experience for all ages," he said.

Revitalization will start in October 2024 until 2025.

"We will immediately revitalize from October 2024 until the target is completed in early 2025, but it is still open or the museum operates," said Intan.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Transportation Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMP) Subagiyo said that later the museum, which stands on an area of 6.25 hectares, will be revitalized with a modern look.

The coming end will be presented in more detail regarding the importance of using transportation for community activities. The Ministry of Transportation will carry out the work together with the TMII management.

"Later, we will pole it into a more modern place, we will also repair the infographic and here it is also a miniature of Indonesia," he said.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the revitalization was carried out because the transportation museum was owned by the Ministry of Transportation. His party also followed the direction of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, regarding uniting Indonesia by building useful connectivity.

It is hoped that the revitalization can aim to advance growth, namely logistics and tourism.
