JAKARTA - Willing to be a candidate for governor of Jakarta, Ridwan Kamil stated that reforestation will be a program that will be carried out at the beginning of his leadership if he wins in the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada) contestation.

According to him, the streets in the Jakarta area will be the first focus in the reforestation program.

"In the first two years that we will do, ladies and gentlemen, we will green all roads in Jakarta," said Ridwan Kamil in his remarks at the DPD Golkar Jakarta, Saturday, September 21.

The process of planting plants or trees will later be assisted by the KIM Plus coalition cadres. So, the realization will be faster.

The greening target is not only arterial roads but the left and right of inner-city toll roads. This is believed to reduce already pollution in Jakarta.

"There should be no median road for any toll roads that we innovate, it must be left and right, in the middle there must be plants and trees," he said.

"The tree we chose later by Pak Suswono's knowledge is a tree that absorbs pollution," added Ridwan Kamil.

In addition, continued the man who is often called Kang Emil, he also plans to require all owners of high-rise buildings in Jakarta to have a garden on the roof.

"Imagine later there will be a governor regulation that requires all flat roof buildings in Jakarta to have a small city forest or park," said Ridwan Kamil.
