Children In Bandung Died When Collapsed During The Earthquake

Bandung Regent Dadang Dadang Supriatna reported that a four-year-old child named Fauzan died as a result of the collapse of the house wall after the 5.0 magnitude earthquake that occurred on Wednesday (18/9) in Bandung Regency, West Java.

Dadang said Fauzan died at Majalaya Hospital on Thursday (19/9) night, after receiving intensive care due to the rubble of a house that collapsed when the earthquake occurred.

"On behalf of myself and the Bandung Regency Government, I would like to express my deep condolences for the death of Fauzan. May the bereaved family be given courage and strength in facing this trial," said Dadang as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, September 20.

Dadang immediately visited the funeral home in Hamerang Village, RT 01/01, Cikembang Village, Kertasari District, Bandung Regency.

Not only that, but the Regent also agreed to the late Fauzan at the mosque near his house with local residents.

"God willing,khusnul khatimah. And let us pray that his family will be given patience, fortitude. May Allah SWT save all our citizens," said Dadang.

Dadang expressed his concern over the earthquake that befell the residents of Paperari. He promised to continue to monitor and assist earthquake victims, including providing assistance for repairing damaged houses.

"I will continue to strive to ease the burden on earthquake victims, both in the form of material assistance and other assistance," he said.

Meanwhile, West Java BPBD recorded 82 injured. Those who were injured were identified in Bandung Regency with 81 people, and one resident of Garut Regency.

"With details, 59 residents suffered minor injuries and 23 people were seriously injured. So far, there have been no reports of casualties due to the 5.0 magnitude earthquake," said West Java BPBD Expert Public Relations Officer Hadi.

Untuk warga yang mengalami luka berat, kata dia, saat ini sudah dibawa ke Rumah Sakit (RS) Bedas Kertasari dan Puskesmas Bedas untuk menjalani perawatan lebih lanjut.

"The victim who was hit by the rubble has been rushed to Bedas Kertas Kertasari Hospital and to the Kertasari Health Center," he said.
