KPK Investigate Sales Of Citizens' Land To PT Hutama Karya For The Trans Sumatra Toll Road

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the process of purchasing land for residents around the Trans Sumatra Toll Road. Three witnesses have been questioned, one of whom is a notary named Rudi Hartono.

"Witnesses RH, FI, and GE were present to be investigated regarding the process of buying and selling land from residents to PT STJ and then the land was sold to PT Hutama Karya," said KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardika to reporters in a written statement, Friday, September 20.

Based on the information obtained, the other two witnesses were Ferry Irawan and Genta Eranda who were Rudi's staff. The examination was carried out on Thursday, September 19 yesterday.

Actually, the KPK also summoned other witnesses, said Tessa. However, he was not present to fulfill the investigator's summons.

"Witness NP as a civil servant was not present and asked for a reschedule because there was an activity," he said.

The witness referred to by Tessa is Nikolas Telggi who is the Head of the Section for Determination of Rights and Registration of the South Lampung Regency Land Office.

Previously reported, the KPK is investigating allegations of corruption related to land acquisition around the Trans Sumatra Toll Road. Three suspects have been named for causing the state to lose up to tens of billions of rupiah.

They are former President Director of BUMN Hutama Karya, Bintang Perbowo; Head of Hutama Karya Business Development and Investment Division, Mohammad Rizal Sutjipto, and President Commissioner of PT Sanitindo Tangsel Jaya, Iskandar Zulkarnaen.

In this case, the KPK has confiscated 54 plots of land with an area of 622,233 square meters. This forced effort was carried out on 22 May.

As for the details of the 54 plots of land confiscated, 32 of them are in Bakauheni Village, South Lampung with an area of 436,305 square meters. While the rest are in Canggu Village, South Lampung, which covers an area of 185,928 square meters.
