JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo signed a Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the Dismissal of Pramono Anung from his current position as Cabinet Secretary.
Pramono Anung previously submitted his resignation to President Joko Widodo for his step forward as a candidate for governor of DKI Jakarta in the 2024 Pilkada.
"Today, Thursday, September 19, 2024, the President has signed Presidential Decree No. 105 P concerning the Dismissal of Mr. Pramono Anung Wibowo as Cabinet Secretary, starting on September 22, 2024, accompanied by thanks for his service and services during his tenure as Cabinet Secretary," said Presidential Special Staff Coordinator Ari Dwipayana in a written message quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, September 19.
Ari explained that in the Presidential Decree, President Jokowi also appointed Minister of State Secretary Pratikno as Acting Cabinet Secretary.
"In the Presidential Decree, Mr. Pratikno, the Minister of State Secretary, is also appointed as the executor of the duties, authorities and responsibilities of the Cabinet Secretary until the definitive Seskab is determined," said Ari.
As previously reported, President Jokowi received a letter from Pramono Anung on September 2, 2024, which contained a request for resignation from the position of Cabinet Secretary, starting from September 22, 2024.
Because the letter submitted by Pramono Anung to President Jokowi stated that the resignation application starting on September 22, 2024, the signing of the Presidential Decree on dismissal as Seskab also adjusted to the request.
"In principle, the President will agree. He respects the political rights of ministers or ministerial-level officials to nominate themselves as candidates for regional head," said Ari.
Apart from Pramono, the cabinet ranks who are also advancing in the 2024 Pilkada are Tri Rismaharini who is the Minister of Social Affairs.
