5 Members Of Ormas Involved In Extortion Of IDR 40 Thousand Market Traders Spilled In Bogor City Claiming To Share Results With DLH Officers

Bogor City Police, West Java Police, arrested five people suspected of carrying out illegal levies (extortion) against traders at the spilled market on Jalan Merdeka, Ciwaringin Village, Bogor City.

Bogor City Police Chief Kombes Bismo Teguh Prakoso said his party carried out raids on thugs who often harassed traders.

From the results of the raid in the early hours of the morning, five perpetrators with the initials IR, AS, DS, K, and NM were taken to the Bogor City Police office.

"We secured and interrogated the perpetrators of the burglary who were brought to the Bogor City Police Office, then transferred to the Saber Extortion Judicial Team," he said in Bogor City, Antara, Wednesday, September 18.

Bismo said, from the statements of the perpetrators, the money quoted from the traders was collected and then a profit sharing was carried out to the Bogor City Environment Agency (DLH) on the grounds that it was for market cleanliness.

"The perpetrators collected illegally from traders with a nominal value of Rp. 40,000 to Rp. 100,000. The perpetrators collected on the grounds of cleaning the market," he explained.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bogor City Police, AKP Aji Riznaldi Nugroho, said that the five perpetrators were elements of one of the mass organizations. In addition, said Aji, the police have also received two names suspected of being elements of the Bogor City DLH for investigation by the Illegal Charges Clean Unit Team (Saber Pungli).

"Yes, we have pocketed two names of the DLH personnel. The investigation was carried out by the Saber Extortion Team," he said.

The Bogor City Government (Pemkot) has followed up on complaints from residents regarding the spilled market on Jalan Merdeka, Ciwaringin Village, which has recently been considered disturbing, ranging from traffic jams, piles of garbage, to allegations of thuggery. (KR-SBN).
