JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin asked that the utilization of data on the Targeting the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE) continue to be optimized in order to increase the risk of poverty reduction programs.
"The poverty reduction program at various levels of government should be inclusive, synergistic, and on target. For this reason, in order to increase program targeting, the use of P3KE data needs to be optimized," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, September 18.
Ma'ruf conveyed this point under the direction of the Coordination Meeting for the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty and the Submission of Fiscal Incentive Funds for Extreme Poverty in 2024 at the Auditorium of the Vice Presidential Secretariat, Jakarta.
Ma'ruf revealed that the data had been used by more than 26 ministries/agencies and already more than 93 percent of local governments (Pemda) used it for program targeting databases.
"In the future, the national and integrated target system needs to be developed so that various data in the relevant ministries/agencies are joined by each other," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
In addition, the Vice President also emphasized other important aspects that must be considered in the program to accelerate the elimination of extreme poverty, namely convergence and synergy.
He explained that the convergence and synergy were reflected in the government's efforts to continue to ensure that extreme poor households receive all existing programs, namely social protection programs, economic empowerment programs for the poor, and programs to improve housing facilities and infrastructure.
"In addition, we also need to ensure the effectiveness of program implementation, both targeting accuracy, number and time of program distribution by prioritizing vulnerable groups such as single-elderly, persons with disabilities, migrant workers, and women's heads of families," said the vice president.
Therefore, he said, the many homework (PR) needs to be supported by ensuring the sustainability of regulations for implementing poverty reduction strategies and eliminating extreme poverty for the 2025-2029 period.
Furthermore, the Vice President said that by 2024 the government had targeted the elimination of extreme poverty to be close to 0 percent in Indonesia.
"We are optimistic that this target can be achieved considering that the extreme poverty rate, which was originally 1.12 percent in March last year, has fallen to 0.83 percent in March this year, approaching 0 percent," said the Vice President.

Nevertheless, he said that this achievement is certainly still faced by several challenges, such as target data accuracy, program convergence, program implementation quality, adjusting extreme poverty line standards to regulations for implementing extreme poverty alleviation which will end in 2024.
"We need to keep this downward trend continuing through the collaboration and work of all stakeholders including the performance and active role of all regional heads," said the Vice President.
