JAKARTA - Bogor Police Chief AKBP Rio Wahyu Anggoro revealed that the Puncak tourist route, Bogor Regency, West Java, was crowded with up to 150,000 vehicles a day during the long holiday commemorating the Prophet Muhammad's birthday.

"The number of vehicles is up to 150,000, be it motorists or car drivers," said Rio as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 16.

He explained that the Bogor Police Traffic Unit had carried out traffic engineering efforts ranging from the odd-even system to the one-way or one-way system since last Friday to reduce the volume density of vehicles.

The Bogor Resort Police also placed 300 police personnel to handle traffic along the Puncak tourist route to help tourists.

According to him, of the 150 vehicles on the Puncak tourist route during Sunday (15/9), currently partially depleted, and there are around 80,000 vehicles left.

He explained that the traffic engineering that was applied was in the form of an odd-even vehicle system and a one-way system.

"We carry out the implementation situationally, see the progress and increase in the volume of incoming vehicles," said Ardian.

He said the increase in the flow of vehicles on the Puncak tourist route during the long holiday this time was quite high.
