JAKARTA - The United States Police confirmed that a man suspected of being the perpetrator of the attempted murder of former US president Donald Trump at his golf course in Florida had been arrested.

Palm Beach regional police chief Sheriff Ric Bradshaw told a news conference on Monday local time saying the arrests were successful thanks to reports of someone watching the suspect flee.

Witnesses saw the perpetrator "flying from the bushes and then rushing into a black Nissan car." Witnesses also managed to take pictures of the perpetrator's vehicle, said Bradshaw.

Based on the report, police officers managed to identify the vehicle and the direction of the car that had fled, namely to Martin County.

Palm Beach Police then contacted the Martin regional police to help secure the suspected perpetrator. With their help, the vehicle was successfully stopped and the alleged perpetrator was arrested.

"They saw the vehicle, then stopped it, and then arrested the perpetrator," the sheriff said.

"We then took the witness to see the person we arrested, and he confirmed that it was true that the person he saw fled the bushes and rushed into the car," Bradshaw said, adding.

Palm Beach Police also secured an AK-47 assault rifle with binoculars, two backpacks, and a GoPro camera lying in the bushes where the alleged perpetrator was hiding.
