A video circulating showing a man's annoyance was due to being a victim of illegal levies (extortion) by members of the police while processing a motor vehicle letter at Samsat Bekasi.

Referring to the video uploaded to the threads account @arifnurcahhyo, the young man recounted the moment he became a victim of extortion.

It was stated that the young man was asked for Rp. 550 thousand so that the BPKB management could be faster than usual.

"The police who were immediately told me, bro, if you want to help quickly, but Rp. 550 thousand if you want to be normal for three days," said the man in the video quoted on Thursday, September 12.

In his confession, the man rejected the request from the police. However, the person again offered his assistance on condition that he paid after the amount submitted.

But the young man still refused. In fact, until it became related to the intention that the police who carried out extortion were arrested.

Unfortunately, what happened was not as expected. This is because the young man was instead taken to the complaint room by other police.

There, the other police said that the member who asked for some money was a member of the Regional Police.

At the end of the video, the young man also expressed his mistake by asking the Bekasi Samsat to lower the banner with anti-extortion writing.

"Samsat Bekasi just removes the anti-extortion banner. It's useless," he said.

Responding to this, the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi said that the police involved in extortion were being processed by Propam.

In fact, the police, known to have the rank of Aipda and with the initials P, have been removed as Samsat service officers.

"Currently, the person concerned is no longer serving in the traffic service department and is undergoing the process by the Propam Bid," said Ade.

Ade ensured that the handling of the extortion case would be thoroughly investigated according to the rules. Even with the imposition of sanctions to these members.

"So this will be handled, and we ask that the clear time will be handled according to the SOP and based on facts and proportionally," said Ade.
