JAKARTA - The candidate for governor of Jakarta, Pramono Anung, has revealed that he has now become known to many Jakarta residents after registering as a candidate for the 2024 Pilkada.

Pramono said that a few days ago he deliberately attended a wedding reception that he was not even invited to. When he entered the reception area, suddenly all the invited guests were shocked to see Pramono and immediately surrounded him.

This was revealed by Pramono while attending the declaration of the group of volunteer organs "House with Pramono Anung-Rano Karno".

"They 'oh, these are candidates for governor'. One, two, three, four, Betawi mothers, Betawi men immediately pulled my cheeks. (Bilang) 'It turns out that they have cheek dimples'. In fact, there are those who pinch my cheeks," said Pramono at the Joang '45 Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, September 11.

The same thing happened when Pramono visited an event held by a resident surnamed Simatupang and a community of Chinese descent.

"Frankly, I thought 'Why am I so desperate? How come I don't have shame?'. That's it, really. For the matter of winning this (pilkada) fight, there's no shame," explained Pramono.

Pramono promised himself and the prospective Deputy Governor Rano Karno will run the programs needed by the people of Jakarta. The Cabinet Secretary admitted that he would not make bombastic promises.

"I am not grandiose, for example building (Jakarta) like Dubai, it is not. But I will start with small things, what is the problem of the community below," explained Pramono.

Pramono will also continue work programs from previous governors such as Sutiyoso, Fauzi Bowo, Joko Widodo, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, to Anies Baswedan.

"What they have left, I will make improvements, and hopefully I will finish them in the era of the period I will lead," he added.
