This Is The Response Of The Jakarta KPU Regarding The Movement 'Abah Children Stab 3 Paslon'

JAKARTA - The Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Wahyu Dinata responded to the emergence of the ‘anak abah stab 3 paslon’ movement in the Jakarta Pilkada. This movement has been echoed on social media.

The ‘anak abah tusuk 3 paslon’ movement is interpreted as the attitude of Anies Baswedan's supporters, nicknamed ‘anak abah’, not to vote for any of the Jakarta Governor-Deputy Governor candidate pairs that have registered with the Jakarta KPU.

Thus, they chose to vote for three candidate pairs on polling day, making their ballots invalid.

Wahyu did not blame the movement. However, Wahyu appealed to Jakarta residents to use their voting rights for one candidate pair.

‘In principle, we from the DKI KPU invite the public to use their voting rights correctly, of course there is a mechanism for voting correctly,’ Wahyu said in a short message, Tuesday, 10 September.

On the one hand, Wahyu said that his party would intensify education to voters to succeed the democratic contestation of regional head elections.

‘We will intensify socialisation and education to voters about the importance of exercising their voting rights properly,’ Wahyu explained.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta gubernatorial election candidates also commented on the ‘anak abah stab 3 paslon’ movement. Deputy Governor candidate for PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Rano Karno regretted this because his voting rights were wasted.

‘Now if he votes for all three, it's a loss, his vote is wasted. No need to come to the polling station. This is our Jakarta, come on, just choose whether you want to vote for Kang Emil mango, want to vote for Si Doel better, want to vote for individuals, please,’ explained Rano.

The candidate for Deputy Governor who was carried by KIM Plus, Suswono, assessed that the movement to vote for the 3 candidates occurred because of communication problems that had not been well established.

‘What I said earlier is that they may not be familiar with the candidates. Of course, later after there is a dialogue, after seeing the big ideas, what should we need, so that the people of Jakarta will be happier. That's the point,’ said Suswono.
