12 Candidates For Supreme Court Justices And Ad Hoc Proposed By KY To Be Rejected By The DPR

JAKARTA - The Indonesian House of Representatives rejected the 12 candidates for Supreme Court justices and ad hoc human rights judges proposed by the Judicial Commission (KY). The decision was made at the 6th DPR Plenary Meeting for the First Session of the 2024-2025 Session Year in the Plenary Meeting Room, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, September 10. "Now we ask the honorable council hearing whether the report of Commission 3 of the DPR RI which decided not to approve all candidates for Supreme Court justices and adhoc ham judges at the 2024 Supreme Court can be approved to be determined?" said the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani in a meeting. "Agreed," replied the board member present. The Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Prince Khairul Saleh, expressed the rejection of all these candidates because the two candidates did not meet the requirements. They are Hari Sih Advianto and Tri Hidayat Wahyudi. Both are said to be ineligible to have experienced 20 years as judges. Hari Sih Advianto has only experienced as a judge for 8 years. Meanwhile, Tri Hidayat Wahyudi has only experienced for 14 years. "Based on the opinions and views of the 9 factions in Commission III of the DPR RI, it has agreed not to fully approve the candidates for Supreme Court justices and Supreme Court ad hoc ham in the 2024 Supreme Court proposed by KY RI,” said Pangeran.
