Bawaslu Considered Loyo During The Presidential Election, Andika And Luthfi Can Supervise Each Other In The Central Java Gubernatorial Election

JAKARTA Professor of Political Science and Security Unpad, Muradi assessed that Andika Perkasa and Ahmad Luthfi could monitor each other's potential for mobilization of officers from both the TNI and Polri in the 2024 Central Java (Central Java) gubernatorial election.

The reason is, reflecting on the implementation of the 2024 presidential election, it is difficult for Bawaslu and the local KPU to be able to carry out effective supervision.

"Reality, during the 2024 election yesterday, Bawaslu could not do much when they found violations committed by the authorities," he said, Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Muradi argues that the PDI-P's choice for Andika Perkasa is precisely to prevent the possibility of the deployment of security forces in the Central Java gubernatorial election, as well as to balance the existence of Ahmad Luthfi, who incidentally, the former Central Java Police Chief.

"After all, Central Java is a bull pen that must be guarded for the PDI-P. Andika is installed so that Luthfi can brake. Both can monitor each other," he added.

According to him, Andika's candidacy is an indication that the party led by Megawati Soekarnoputri has learned from the defeat of the 2024 presidential election. Although in Central Java it is known as the bull cage, the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair promoted by PDIP actually lost to the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair endorsed by Jokowi.

Moreover, said Muradi, one of the causes of defeat in the PDIP version of Central Java was the massive mobilization of the apparatus, both the TNI and Polri, in winning the Prabowo-Gibran pair.

"Together with the background of the apparatus, both (Andika and Luthfi) can monitor each other. The TNI Commander and the National Police Chief must also be able to refrain from maintaining the neutrality of the TNI-Polri," he said.
