Densus 88 Arrest 7 Terrorists During Pope Francis' Visit, Threatens Shooting To Bombing

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror arrested 7 people who threatened on social media regarding Pope Francis' visit to Indonesia. The form of threat ranges from burning the church to setting bombs.

"Law enforcement is carried out against 7 perpetrators," said Densus 88 Anti-terror Spokesperson Kombes Aswin Siregar when confirmed, Friday, September 6.

The perpetrators had the initials HFP, LB, DF, FA, HS, ER and RS. They were arrested at different locations, namely Bangka Belitung, West Sumatra, DK Jakarta, and West Java

It was detailed that the HFP was arrested in Bogor, West Java. He called for documentation and studied Istiqlal's security protocol ahead of the Pope's visit to Jakarta.

Then, LB who was arrested at Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta. His role was to upload a provocation narrative by providing a bomb image in the comments column on one of the Instagram social media accounts that reported the Pope's arrival to Jakarta.

DF was arrested in the Rawalumbu area, Bekasi. The involvement conveyed a narrative of provocation to carry out attacks on the activities of the Pope's visit to Jakarta.

Then, the FA was arrested in East Bekasi, Bekasi City. His role conveyed a provocation on social media to burn places of worship during the Pope's visit to Jakarta.

HS was arrested in Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands. He called for a provocation narrative in the comments column of the Indonesian Mayor's Conference Youtube account with the phrase "I'M GOING TO BOMB POPE... I'M TERRORISTIC... JUST WAIT... WAIT FOR KABARYEEE".

ER was arrested in Cibitung, Bekasi Regency. His role, using the ABU MUSTAQIIM account, commented on Facebook with a provocation sentence, namely:... BBBOOOMMM...!! in response to Pope Francis' Pandemic which will be held at the Istiqlal Mosque. In fact, he took allegiance to ISIS in 2014 and had the desire to move.

Finally, the hospital that was arrested in Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra. He provoked on social media TikTok on September 5, 2024, with a threatening narrative to carry out the shooting of the Pope.
